Our Core Values
If you drive long enough, you're probably going to have tire trouble at some point. If you're lucky, you may just have a slow leak. You could, however, actually have a flat. This is a problem you're going to want to have repaired. While many establishments advertise tire repair, not all of them adhere to sound and fair practices. At Auto Stop Elite in Vienna, Virginia, we don't just fix tires. We take good care of our customers. We operate using solid core values. Therefore, we perform high-quality work at fair prices. We'll be honest about what you do and don't need (i.e., a tire repair vs. tire replacement), but we'll always put your safety first. You'll find us in the Great Falls area at 1202 Downey Drive. If you can't get to us, we'll come to you. That's right. We offer roadside assistance that includes help with a flat tire for a full year after you make a purchase of $25 or more at our shop. For excellence in tire service, give us a call at 571-282-3380, use our handy online scheduler, or simply drive up.
Repairs and Replacement
Repairing a tire often makes good sense. You can save some money if you can make a simple repair rather than purchasing a new tire. However, it's important to determine whether a repair is safe. If you have a flat or leaking tire, we'll check it out and give you an honest answer about your options. For example, we'll measure the remaining tread. If you have at least 2/32" (2 mm), your tire may be a candidate for repair. If the tread is worn below that measurement, it needs replacing and should not be repaired. Further, we'll check the size and location of the breach. A puncture located in the tread pattern that doesn't exceed 1/4" is typically safe to fix. Larger punctures, cuts, or holes located on or near the sidewall shouldn't be repaired.
We will also consider the overall condition of the tire. It shouldn't have been driven flat, exhibit sidewall cracking, or have exposed belts and cords. Once a tire is deemed suitable for repair, it should be taken off the rim. Although a temporary repair (such as with an external plug alone or a can of tire sealer) may be necessary if you're stranded beside the road, a permanent repair should be effected using both an external plug and an internal mushroom patch. You can only apply this if the tire is off the rim. Shoddy maintenance can lead to tire failure and blowouts. We're not willing to compromise your safety. Also, check the manufacturer's warranty regarding tire repair. Some companies void the warranty of high-speed rating tires if they have been repaired.
Keeping Your Vehicle Rolling
