Transmission Troubles
Once you let us know that something isn't right with your transmission's performance, we'll check it out to identify the exact problem. There are, however, some signs you can watch for. These indicators let you know something isn't right, and they also help us more quickly identify the problem when you pass the information along to us. For example, the check engine light may be the first sign. While this warning lamp can mean many things, it sometimes illuminates when there's transmission trouble. Also, noises such as clunking, humming, or whining may give clues. New sensations as the car changes gears like grinding or shaking should put you on notice. You may also notice a delay between the time you press the accelerator and when your auto moves. It may feel that the car does nothing for some seconds before taking off. Furthermore, you may feel slipping gears. This happens when the transmission goes in and out of gear on its own or moves between gears when it shouldn't. This can create a dangerous situation and should command prompt attention. Another issue may be a dragging clutch if you drive a manual vehicle. This means that the clutch isn't disengaging when it should. If the transmission is overheating and burning the fluid (especially if the fluid is old), you may detect a burning odor. Finally, a red-colored fluid puddle under the auto is probably transmission fluid. If you see that, let us know that you think you have a leak.
Transmission Translations
There are some often repeated myths around transmission repair. One of them is that the problem won't get worse if you continue to drive the vehicle. We can translate what your auto is saying, and we can assure you your car didn't say that. Instead, it's begging for attention. Some people also say it doesn't matter where you take your car for repair. That's not good information either. While there are plenty of repair shops around, not all of them put people first, vehicles, and money second. At Auto Stop Elite, we've been listening to our customers since the first day our doors opened. Now with more locations open to serve our community, we're still interested in our customers. We want to hear what you have to say and what your car is telling you. We are, in fact, the translators of the language your vehicle speaks. Further, we operate through solid core values, so you can be sure you're receiving honest service that's backed by a warranty at a fair price. Give us a call at 571-282-3380.
